Nativity Scene Donkey

Although not mentioned in any of the Gospels, it is legend that a donkey assisted the Holy Family as they journeyed to Bethlehem for the census before Christ was born.

A donkey is also part of the story of the Flight into Egypt.

And of course we know Jesus rode an “ass” before He carried His cross and sacrificed His life for the sins of the whole world.
