Hand embroidered decorative pillow of the Blessed Mother honoring her as she appeared to St. Catherine in Paris in 1830. This image was modeled after the image of Mary on the Miraculous medal where Mary has graces streaming from the rings on her fingers and her bare feet are crushing the serpent.

Each pillow measures 20.5 inches x 20.5 inches, some of the photos show how perfect the backside of the embroidery is too! Such care was taken when the pillow was made. They are special sacramentals for the home. Made by a Catholic artisan in India, she takes special care in the detail of construction.

As Jesus instructed John to take Mary into his home, we should too! The pillows are a unique way to do this.

"When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold, your son.'
Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home." John 19:26

100% cotton fabric on the outside and cotton thread and border. Embroidered image is made with black thread. The bottom is finished with a zipper and the pillow fill is a 22 x 22 inch cotton outer case stuffed with 80% feather and 20% down. The over-sized insert makes the pillows firm and substantial. The pillow cover is made by an artisan friend in India who is so very talented with her work!

November 27, 1830, in a Paris, France chapel, Our Lady appeared and spoke to Catherine “Have a medal struck upon this model. Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around the neck.” Our Lady was standing on a globe, from her outstretched hands dazzling rays of light radiated. We have modeled our pillows after this important devotion to Mary.

The medal was made in 1832 with the approval of the Catholic Church. It was quickly distributed throughout France. and blessings that Mary had promised flowed to all who wore the medal. It became referred to as "The Miraculous Medal" and is still one of the strongest devotions in the Catholic Church, just behind the rosary.
