Our Lady of Champion Catholic Scarf with Miraculous Medal
Our beautiful Mary fabric design depicts the only approved Marian apparition in the USA. Our Lady of Good Help is seen on the fabric between trees as she appeared in Wisconsin with a barn and dairy cow. Beautiful shades of blue-greens representing Our Lady and the beautiful rural area of Wisconsin where Mary visited.
In 1869 in an area near today's Champion, Wisconsin, USA, Adele Brise, a Belgian immigrant encountered a "Beautiful Lady dressed in white" between a spruce hemlock tree and a maple. By instruction of her priest after Mass, Adele asked the dazzling lady after her third apparition, "Who are you?" Mary responded, “I am the Queen of Heaven who prays for the conversion of sinners, and I wish you to do the same." She was told to gather together the children in this remote area and teach them the truths they must know for their salvation; teach them the catechism; teach them how to bless themselves with the Sign of the Cross; and teach them how to approach the sacraments.
Attached to each scarf is a mini Miraculous Medal. The medal design was made in 1832 with the approval of the Catholic Church after Mary had appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in Paris in 1830. The medal was quickly distributed throughout France and blessings that Mary had promised flowed to all who wore the medal. It became referred to as "The Miraculous Medal" and is still one of the strongest devotions throughout the world in the Catholic Church, just behind the rosary.
